Beth Jones, Past-President


Beth joined Delta Dental of Iowa as the Public Benefit Coordinator in 2012. In 2014, Beth was promoted to Public Benefit Manager. Beth is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation as well as the oversight of Delta Dental of Iowa’s community and public benefit activities.

In her role as Public Benefit Manager, Beth proactively works with non-profits, trade associations, schools, and clinics across the state to improve the oral health of Iowans through the organization’s Foundation, public and community benefit activities. With Beth’s leadership and guidance, the Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation and public benefit program invested over $2 million dollars in 2015 to Iowa projects.


Beth has successfully lead the Delta Dental of Iowa’s dental education loan repayment program and Fulfilling Iowa’s Need for Dentist project (FIND) in placing 32 dentists in practices serving nearly 100,000 underserved Iowans across the state providing in total over 330,000 dental services. She also has successfully led the company’s United Way Campaign in surpassing fundraising goals on a yearly basis and securing the United Way Central Iowa Advocate and Volunteer Awards in recent years. Beth also was recognized by the United Way in 2015 for her campaign work in social media. In addition, Beth is instrumental in the execution of Delta Dental’s Giving Back and Bringing Smiles annual project to engage the entire company in one of our core values, “Improve Lives”. Over the course of the year, she effectively motivates over 125 employees to participate in Volunteer and Provide projects for a local non-profit organization. Every year, we have had 100% employee participation!


In 2012, Beth was appointed to serve on the Governor’s Prevention of Disability Policy Council. She currently serves on various committees, such as Healthcare Coverage for Kids Coalition, Polk County Oral Health Coalition, Lifelong Smiles Coalition, Iowa Public Health Association Advocacy Committee, United Way Business Volunteer Council Steering Committee and the Delta Dental Plans Association Community Benefit Steering Committee. Beth has a passion for family and community service. Since 2009, Beth has been involved with her children’s school activities serving in various leadership positions and as a coach and a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She is a dedicated runner and has finished several marathons including New York City and Chicago.


Prior to joining Delta Dental of Iowa, Beth served in several leadership roles for the Iowa Department of Public Health over an 11 year period. In that capacity, she had a proven record of success in working with diverse groups to advocate and implement significant legislation impacting the health of Iowans.
