Pam Mollenhauer - Member-at-Large

Pam Mollenhauer is the Director of the Office of Public Policy at the State Hygienic Laboratory.  She has a B.A. in Marketing from Simpson College (2006) an A.A.S. degree with emphasis in Environmental Health Technology from Kirkwood Community College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa (1979).  Ms. Mollenhauer has been an employee of the Hygienic Laboratory since 1987. During her 30 year career she has progressed in the field of laboratory science from a lab assistant to her current position. She worked as an organic and inorganic analyst for over 18 years. Ms. Mollenhauer has been on the ground floor of development and is actively involved with many laboratory committees and initiatives such as Reward & Recognition, Internship and managerial strategic planning.

 

Ms. Mollenhauer has completed the UI Learning and Development Management Series and Strategic Human Resources Series. She is a two-time award recipient of the University of Iowa Improving the Workplace Award and was given the University of Iowa Outstanding Staff Award in 2010 for her accomplishments in developing external relations. In 2014 she received the Iowa Environmental Health Association Distinguished Service Award in recognition of her service to environmental health.

 

Ms. Mollenhauer provides mentoring and support for site reps in HR, Training& Outreach, at the Ankeny lab. In 2015 she co-developed a monthly lunchtime cinema learning toolkit to increase cultural competency for Ankeny staff.  Her past professional affiliations include Past President of the Iowa Environmental Health Association (2008-2009) and Past Co-chair of the IEHA Membership & Marketing Committee.  She was conference planning committee member to the Iowa Quality Center; member of Des Moines University - Masters of Public Health Advisory Committee and 2008-2009; member to the Membership and Recognition Committee and Emerging Leader Cohort III (NOLA) - Association of Public Health Laboratories; and SHL Planning Committee affiliate - Iowa Governor’s Conference on Public Health.

 

Her current professional affiliations include immediate Past President and active Advocacy Committee member to Iowa Public Health Association. She participates in quarterly meetings at the Des Moines Area Community College, Bio-Tech Advisory Committee. Ms. Mollenhauer has extensive experience in student and teacher training events, tours, STEM initiatives, public health advocacy, event planning, reward and recognition of employees, as well as many other staff and community engagement activities.
